American fame and fortune

Chapter 49 War on the Set

The crew's location was quickly transferred from Gray's to a General Motors production center.

The large industrial park has been idle since 2000, when GM closed its Atlanta production center.

After Kelly Gray cooperated with the crew, she rented a large factory building and transformed it into a studio.

Filming of "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" began as French director Michel Gondry arrived in Atlanta with more than 20 key cast members.

Martin played a small role, and the scenes were relatively fragmented. The main task every day was to put on makeup and wait.

This job is not as simple as it seems, and Martin pulls Robert to play against each other from time to time to keep in shape.

He is like the man in the Sacred Valley film, he has no sense of existence, but when the director uses it, he must be high-spirited and not soft like a slug.

It doesn't matter that Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet are not in good shape, and those who play for them must make fewer mistakes.

In the actor's rest area, Martin raised his hand and bumped Robert's fist: "Brother, don't make any mistakes."

It was Robert's turn in the next scene, and he said, "I'm an old background artist."

Five or six actors entered the "bookstore" and acted as background boards.

Robert is in a good position, maybe the camera can catch the front.

Before the filming started, Martin noticed that Robert quietly moved half a step towards Kate Winslet. Judging from the position of the camera, the lens could definitely capture him.

It really is an old background artist.

It didn't exceed the requirements, and I was able to show my face.

Background boards for Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet are good enough for years among background artists in Atlanta.

Maybe the air in the studio was stuffy, or maybe it was the time of the month for women, Kate Winslet was in a very bad state today, and it took more than a dozen shots for a very simple scene.

French director Michel could only shoot one after another, and couldn't get angry.

After Robert came back, Martin was about to enter, he had two lines of dialogue with Kate Winslet, and then kissed.

He sprayed on breath freshener and entered the set to have a brief exchange with Kate Winslet.

Kate Winslet said directly: "I take the initiative and go at my own pace."

Martin said, "Understood."

The assistant director came over to remind me to move.

Shooting begins.

During the conversation between the hero and heroine, Martin comes from behind the bookshelf, talks to the heroine, and then bows his head to kiss the heroine.

The heroine quickly leaned over and printed on Martin's mouth.

Michelle shouted: "Too shallow! A deep kiss, a deep kiss of love!"

Do it all over again, the heroine kisses Martin again.

Michelle was still not satisfied: "Kate, are you going to eat him?"

Again, stop again.

The romance in the French bones makes the director have a perfect demand for kisses.

After shooting more than a dozen times in a row, Michelle was not satisfied.

The further back, the worse Kate Winslet was.

Because the heroine tried various types of kisses, Martin's lips were numb.

At first, there was a hint of joy in his heart, I kissed Ruth.

Soon it was indifferent and it turned into me having a kiss scene with Kate Winslet.

At this point, Martin had only one thought: I was in front of Fat Wen.

After shooting and shouting to stop several times, Michelle couldn't help saying, "Don't stick out your tongue!"

"What the hell do you want?" Kate Winslet exploded. This is a woman who dared to confront Cameron on the set. She directly used the woman's advantage and opened the map gun: "Put away the boring things about French men, I've had enough of you in Los Angeles, French men who only take out their anger on women!"

As soon as the British insult came out, Michelle became angry: "You arrogant half-cooked beef, there is no undersea tunnel here, but there is an international airport leading to hell, which is as convenient as Charles de Gaulle airport!"

Everyone present, including Jim Carrey, hurriedly hid aside, not wanting to participate in this bloody mutual insult.

Producer Steve Golling, writer-producer Charlie Kaufman, and executive producer Louise Meyer all came to the set to break up the fight.

The crew suspended work, and Martin returned to the rest area. After consulting the assistant makeup artist, he took out a wet towel and wiped it gently.

Robert added insult to injury: "At first I was a little envious of you, but now...it's not easy for you to come back alive."

After the three producers tried to persuade them, it took a while to calm down the war.

Martin patched up his outfit and went back to the set.

Kate Winslet saw Martin's lips and said politely, "Sorry."

Martin replied softly, "It's okay."

Director Michelle glanced at Martin and asked the makeup artist, "His mouth?"

The makeup artist said, "It will take a while."

It was impossible for Michelle to wait for a young actor. After thinking about it for a while, he said to his assistant, "Adjust his position."

In another shot, Martin walked sideways, kissing Kate Winslet with his back to the camera, without the front camera.

Martin accepted the reality helplessly. The director and the heroine quarreled, but it was he who was unlucky in the end.

Back at the resting place, Robert was very happy: "Although you have lines, you didn't show your face."

Martin's shooting is over today, he can take off his make-up and leave, and the two go to the trailer together.

After removing the makeup, Martin asked Robert: "Your show is over, what are you going to do next?"

Robert said: "I chose the job of the logistics team, mainly moving food and drinks, and I am familiar with this job."

Martin couldn't help reminding: "Dude, I can't be the leading actor or supporting actor in this crew, you don't have to work so hard."

Robert didn't want to talk to the bastard, pointed to the front and said, "Look, isn't that our hero?"

Martin looked over there, at the open-air make-up place built by the awning, and there was a handsome blond guy among the passers-by actors who were changing clothes. After thinking for a while, he asked, "Adam Smith?"

Robert nodded: "Yes, the male lead in Ma Zhen's play, I didn't expect to be the same as me now, just as a background board."

In the dining car next to it, a black woman of mixed race came out and greeted Robert: "Are you done with work today?"

Robert said: "The filming is over, and I will start doing chores tomorrow."

The black woman turned her gaze to Martin.

Robert casually introduced: "This is Martin, the deputy director of the troupe. Martin, this is Rosa, the former actor of the troupe, and now she is back."

Rosa held out her hand to Martin, her chocolate-colored skin was as smooth as satin: "I remember you."

Martin didn't remember her, but shook hands politely: "I remember you too."

The black BMW 7 drove to the side of the road, and Kelly Gray in business attire got out of the car and waved to Martin.

"I have a friend," Martin said, and walked over.

Kelly Gray saw his mouth: "How can it hurt here?"

Martin shrugged: "In a kiss scene, I was too attractive, and I was swollen from being kissed by the heroine."

Kelly smiled: "I tell you good news, your social investigator has become a full-time employee, with a weekly salary of $500."

Martin said, "How can I thank you?"

"No need." Kelly didn't shy away from it, because Martin was not stupid, and he would understand if he asked casually: "I got more."

Martin also laughed: "When can I become Congressman Kelly?"

"There's still a long way to go," Kelly Gray said.

Not far from the other side, Rosa looked at Martin and asked curiously, "Is he familiar with the boss of Gray Film and Television?"

Robert said: "It seems to be a friend, but I don't know the details."

Rosa watched the two talking and laughing, and said, "It's not that familiar."

Robert didn't want to talk too much, and said vaguely: "Who knows."

Martin turned around, waved to Robert, and followed Kelly Gray back to the studio.

Rosa looked away and invited Robert: "May I invite you to dinner?"

Robert pointed to the dining car: "You didn't eat?"

"No." Rosa grabbed Robert's arm and left.

Passing by the open-air makeup area, Adam Smith was taking off his costume. When he saw Rosa coming, he said hello, "Hi, Rosa, where are you going?"

Rosa stopped: "Go and eat."

Adam Smith looked at Rosa's protruding figure, then at the ugly man with a big head behind him, and smiled charmingly: "Exactly, I'm going to dinner too, may I invite you?"

Rosa's eyes fell on his passerby costume, and she politely refused: "Sorry, I have an appointment."

Adam Smith looked down at the costume, and wanted to throw it away, but it was inappropriate. When he was used to the actor and then played this kind of passer-by with no status, he felt a huge psychological gap.

Ward came over from the side and said in a low voice: "Poyet's subordinate Diego called and asked us to pick up the goods at night. The watches of those high-end clubs like new goods very much."

"I see." The income of the leading actor in Gray Company's late-night drama is not particularly high, and part of Adam Smith's decent life comes from part-time jobs in high-end clubs and helping others ship goods.

Ward tentatively said, "Do you want to break it over there?"

Adam Smith didn't care: "A big star like Marlon Brando could pull himself off, what am I afraid of?" He patted Ward on the shoulder: "It's easy to get on this boat, but hard to get off."

I am used to making money lying down, who the hell wants to stand up.
