Chapter 11 Learning to be a Civilized Person

Bright skylight brings warmth and a sense of security.

Martin ran around the Clayton community at a constant speed. After his leg injury healed, he began to exercise in a planned way. If a poor man wants to look good, he must have a good body.

A shutter door opened, Scott Carter, with seaweed in his mouth and a wine bottle in his hand, came out of the grocery store, spit out the seaweed with only his butt, and shouted at Martin: "Idiot, aren't you tired? You have to know how to enjoy yourself." !"

Martin didn't bother to talk to him, and directly gave him his middle finger.

Why exercise, of course, is for later enjoyment.

After going back to wash briefly, Martin went to the Carter's next door to have breakfast.

Lily and Hall packed their school bags and got ready to go to school.

Elena brought an fried egg sandwich, and Martin asked Harris, who was flipping through the book, "Aren't you going to school?"

Harris said: "I am going to apply to college, and studying at home is more efficient than going to a public high school."

"Good luck." Martin finished his breakfast, took out the tip he got last night from his pocket, and threw it to Elena: "My food expenses."

Elena was surprised: "Idiot, are you crazy? Was your head smashed by a nigger?"

Martin drank milk without looking up: "Find a new job as a bartender at the House of the Beast."

Lily interrupted suddenly: "Why not a gigolo? I'm saving money..."

With two bangs, Elena suppressed with an iron fist, Lily and Hall covered their noses, and they were all honest.

Martin drank all the milk and said to Elena, "I'm going to buy a second-hand car, let's go together?"

Elena picked up a chastity ring and put it on her left ring finger: "I went to the Methodist Church in the morning to help. The Methodist Association recently united with the Atlanta Methodists to promote neoconservativeism. The free lunch provided was very rich."

Martin heard the name for the first time: "The Methodist Society?"

Elena simply explained: "Conservative organizations come from the same source as Methodist churches, and they have the same philosophy and are conservative!"

Martin understood: "So you're wearing the ring?"

Elena said: "I trust whoever gives more free food."

Lily was about to interject again, but Martin had already prepared himself: "If you don't want to be beaten into a pig's head, just keep your mouth shut."

Elena asked, "You got a new job, let's throw a party to celebrate?"

"After I've been busy for a while, call your friends and open it in my backyard." Martin pointed to the rented house: "Recently, I always feel that James is lying down and it's not very quiet, so ask more people to sit on top of James. Dance, he sees that we live happily, and he will definitely stay down there with peace of mind."

Elena nodded: "I asked Monica and the others to come over."

Martin called Bruce and met him on the south side of the community. The two had made an appointment to see the car together yesterday.

Vincent-Lee's family is involved in many businesses, including a second-hand car dealership. Bruce belongs to Vincent's confidant, and he can get a commission for introducing business to the dealership.

Among the several cars recommended by sales and Bruce, Martin chose a Ford, and the price of $4,500 was of course to be paid in installments.

No matter how cheap it is, he is worried that it will be damaged on the road.

After handing in a down payment of US$900 and completing the formalities, the two went to the gun shop.

Martin has no bad records and must have bought legal firearms.

The gun shop has second-hand guns for sale, probably new Glock 17s, from treasure hunters in Amoy Warehouse.

Bruce disassembled it and inspected it carefully, and suggested that Martin buy it.

The pistol has two magazines, including the holster and maintenance oil, plus 100 rounds of ammunition, totaling $380.

Georgia's firearms management is relatively loose, and the application for pistol licenses is very fast. According to the gun shop owner, the state government has even discussed a bill to carry a pistol without a license and cover.

Entering the small shooting range that came with the gun store, Martin took out two $5 bills and handed them to Bruce.

Bruce put it away, and said with a silly smile: "Before I go to work at night, I'm yours."

Martin reminded: "Dude, you are a civilized person, and I also want to be a civilized person. Don't say things that are easy to misunderstand."

Bruce removed the magazine and asked, "Have you used the gun?"

Martin shrugged: "I only played with prop guns and toy guns."

Bruce taught from switching safety and loading bullets, while reminding Martin: "Don't forget the poster you promised."

"Don't worry, don't worry." Martin loaded the bullet into the empty magazine.

Bruce took the money and taught very seriously, and Martin studied very seriously.

Not only survival skills, but also fighting for roles can be used.

When Professor Bruce shoots, he first talks about the essentials of the action, and then demonstrates it himself. He moves swiftly and has good marksmanship, hitting a target ten meters away.

Martin put on earplugs and fired several magazines one after another. At least he knew what it was like to shoot a pistol.

As for marksmanship, it is not yet possible to talk about it.

"For the sake of letting me make money, some advice." Bruce pulled a chair and sat down, and said, "When you meet a black scumbag from the south, just like last night, don't hesitate when it's time to show you have a gun. It ensures that we continue to be civilized people."

Martin made up his mind to buy a gun and a car because of what happened last night, and immediately replied, "I will learn from you to be a civilized person."

Bruce said again: "When you encounter a police inspection, if you haven't committed any serious crimes, you must do what the police say. Don't even think about touching the gun. You rubbish rookie will be emptied of bullets."

Martin has seen too many videos of this and said, "I won't give them a chance."

Bruce said the last point: "You are a rookie, you can't scare people. When the other party still has a gun, quickly find a way to escape."

Martin smiled and said, "I'll run away like shit, and call you old bird to get back in the game."

Bruce sighed: "Now is the age of civilized people. I think when I just left the army, I dared to hold AR and shoot at people from other gangs. I was really stupid at that time. I didn't know that my fate was my own."

Martin asked, "Was in the army?"

"It happened in the 1990s, and he was stationed in the UK." Bruce said, "He was forcibly discharged."

Martin was a little curious and asked, "Why? If it's inconvenient, pretend I didn't ask."

Bruce smiled silly: "There was a British soldier who lost a bet with me, but he didn't pay the chips. Don't the British call themselves a civilized gentleman? I used a bit of a civilized way to collect debts."

Martin exclaimed: "Can I comment? You did a great job!

Bruce asked, "You think it's civilized, too?"

Martin clenched his fist and touched Bruce: "If you have another chance like this, call me!"

Bruce is a talent, and it doesn't hurt to have a good relationship.

In the next two days, Martin practiced guns for an hour during the day, read newspaper recruitment information, looked for suitable opportunities, and went to work in clubs at night.

He gets tips of around $20 a night, easily double that amount if the club has more patrons.

But House of the Beast rarely has more than 50 customers present at the same time.

On Wednesday afternoon, Martin was notified by the Marietta Theater Company and went to the Midtown Art Theater on Thursday to wait for the crew selection.
